Terms and Conditions
The terms that govern enrolment in our courses — fees and refunds, attendance and conduct, placement support, data protection, and your rights as a learner.
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern enrolment and participation in training courses provided by The Teaching School (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By enrolling in a course, you agree to be bound by these Terms, alongside our Privacy Policy and any signed consent or waiver documents.
2. About Us
The Teaching School is an independent education and training provider offering vocational training, skills development, and employability support.
We are not an employer and do not provide employment or guaranteed job placement.
3. Enrolment and Eligibility
To enrol, learners must:
- Provide accurate personal information
- Meet any course-specific entry requirements
- Provide valid identification and eligibility documents where required
We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw enrolment where information is false or incomplete.
4. Course Delivery
We will deliver training with reasonable care and skill. We reserve the right to:
- Change course content, delivery methods, or schedules where necessary
- Use qualified trainers or approved subcontractors
- Deliver training in person, online, or blended formats
5. Fees and Payments (if applicable)
Where applicable:
- Course fees must be paid in full or under agreed instalment plans
- Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of training
- Fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing
Fees, Payments & Refunds
6. Course Fees
All course fees are set out at the point of enrolment and must be paid in full or according to an agreed payment plan before or during course delivery.
By enrolling, you agree to pay all applicable fees associated with your course.
7. Refund Policy
Refunds are not normally available once a course has started or once you have accessed training materials, attended sessions, or received services from The Teaching School.
Refunds will only be issued in the following limited circumstances:
- Where The Teaching School cancels a course before delivery has commenced
- Where a refund is required under UK law or statutory consumer rights
- Where explicitly agreed in writing by an authorised representative of The Teaching School
8. Cooling-Off Period (Where Applicable)
If you enrol online or remotely, you may be entitled to a statutory cooling-off period under UK consumer law.
If you request cancellation within this period and have not accessed training or resources, you may be eligible for a refund.
If training has already commenced or been accessed, your right to a refund may be affected.
9. Non-Attendance and Withdrawal
No refunds will be issued for:
- Non-attendance of scheduled sessions
- Voluntary withdrawal from a course after commencement
- Failure to complete the course for any reason
- Removal due to breach of Terms & Conditions or conduct requirements
10. Instalment Payments
Where a payment plan is agreed:
- All instalments remain payable in full regardless of course attendance or completion
- Failure to complete the course does not cancel outstanding payment obligations
11. Exceptional Circumstances
Refund requests outside of this policy will only be considered at the discretion of The Teaching School management and may require supporting evidence.
12. Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK law.
13. Attendance and Conduct
Learners are expected to:
- Attend all scheduled sessions punctually
- Participate fully in training activities
- Follow reasonable instructions from staff
- Comply with health, safety, and safeguarding requirements
We reserve the right to remove any learner whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate.
14. Work Placement and Employment Support (No Guarantee)
We may provide employability support, including CV preparation, interview coaching, and referrals to third-party employers or recruitment agencies.
As part of your course we may offer you a “guaranteed placement”. A guaranteed placement is not a guarantee of employment. The “guaranteed placement” may take the form of an interview, a trial day, or a full or half day assignment in a school via our 3rd party recruitment partners. Neither The Teaching School nor our 3rd party recruitment partners guarantee employment to any delegate.
Please be aware:
- We do not guarantee employment, interviews, or work placements
- Any placement or employment decision is made solely by the third-party employer or agency
- The guaranteed placement is dependent upon passing the recruitment, selection and vetting procedures of the recruitment partner including all suitability checks (including but not limited to Enhanced DBS, referencing and Overseas Police check if applicable)
- We are not responsible for any decisions made by third parties — in the event of a 3rd party being unable to complete all suitability checks to their satisfaction, The Teaching School will not be liable for any inability to provide the guaranteed placement and you will not be liable for any refund as a result

15. Data Protection and Privacy
We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Full details are provided in our Privacy Policy.
By enrolling, you acknowledge that:
- Your data will be used to deliver training and meet legal obligations
- With your explicit consent, relevant data may be shared with employers or recruitment partners for employment or placement opportunities
16. Safeguarding and Safety
We are committed to safeguarding learners and maintaining a safe learning environment.
All learners must comply with safeguarding procedures, health and safety rules, and any reasonable instructions issued by staff or placement providers.
17. Liability
We are not liable for:
- Decisions made by third-party employers or agencies
- Loss of opportunity, income, or employment outcomes
- Injury or loss resulting from failure to follow instructions
- Loss or damage to personal belongings
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or where prohibited by law.
18. Changes to Courses or Services
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or withdraw courses where necessary due to operational, regulatory, or staffing requirements.
19. Termination
We may terminate a learner’s enrolment immediately if:
- There is a breach of these Terms
- There is serious misconduct or safeguarding concern
- False or misleading information was provided during enrolment
20. Third-Party Services
We may introduce learners to third-party services such as:
- Employers
- Recruitment agencies
- Placement providers
We are not responsible for the services, decisions, or actions of these third parties.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
22. Acceptance of Terms
By enrolling on a course with The Teaching School, you confirm that you:
- Have read and understood these Terms
- Agree to be bound by them
- Understand that employment or placement is not guaranteed
- Understand that third-party decisions are outside our control
23. Work Placement & Employment Non-Guarantee Waiver
The waiver below forms part of these Terms. It is also published as a standalone document at /policies/waiver for ease of reference and signing.
1. No Guarantee of Employment or Placement
I understand and acknowledge that enrolment on a course with The Teaching School does not constitute or guarantee:
- Any offer of employment
- Any work placement
- Any internship or job opportunity
- Any specific outcome following completion of training
I understand that any reference to employment support is aspirational and advisory only, and outcomes are not guaranteed.
2. No Employment Relationship
I understand that:
- The Teaching School is an independent education and training provider
- The Teaching School is not an employer or employment agency
- No employment relationship exists or is implied between myself and The Teaching School as a result of course participation
3. Referrals to Third Parties
I acknowledge that, where appropriate and with my explicit consent, The Teaching School may:
- Refer me to third-party recruitment agencies
- Introduce me to external employers or placement providers
- Share relevant personal data strictly for the purpose of employment or placement consideration
I understand that such referrals are provided as a support service only and do not guarantee any outcome.
4. Independent Decision Making by Employers
I understand and agree that:
- Any decision to offer a work placement, interview, or employment opportunity is made solely by the third-party employer or recruitment agency
- All decisions are made in accordance with the employer’s own policies, procedures, recruitment standards, vetting, and selection criteria
- The Teaching School has no control over, and bears no responsibility for, these decisions
5. No Liability for Outcomes
I acknowledge that The Teaching School:
- Does not accept responsibility for any decision made by a third-party employer or agency
- Does not guarantee interviews, placements, or employment outcomes
- Is not liable for any refusal, withdrawal, or termination of opportunity by a third party
6. Consent-Based Data Sharing
I understand that any referral or sharing of my personal data with third parties will only take place:
- With my explicit consent
- In accordance with The Teaching School’s Privacy Policy and UK GDPR obligations
7. Acknowledgement
By signing below, I confirm that:
- I have read and understood this waiver
- I understand that no employment or placement is guaranteed
- I understand that all employment decisions are made independently by third parties
- I voluntarily agree to participation in training under these terms
